DJOUGOU: Zemidjan Rides

Becky: This first video clip is the terre rouge road just off of the main road over to our hotel. Note the fumes from the truck in front of us. The Zemijohn drivers all wore yellow and green shirts indicating they were taxi drivers.
Damian: Bec was smart enough to use her camera to take video of this. My brain is half-filled with wagasi and pile so I wouldn't have thought to do this. Little explanation about 'post-mate'. In the Peace Corps your 'post-mate' is he or she who is posted with you at your post. I think Peace Corps generally tried to keep at lease 2 volunteers in the same town or village or at lease close village to village. Niall was my post-mate in Djougou and the relevance here is that all these videos basically show his route home from the rondpoint in the center of town.

Becky: These two videos are clips into town and out of town on the main road in Djougou. It was really neat to take a video of these roads because no one picture can quite capture the total experience... the people walking, what they wore, what they carried, the various store fronts and what they sold, the hair salons, the animals and children running around, etc. It was a really eclectic view.
